Hi, I’m Jenny Edwards, and I’m one of the New Media Interns at The Humane League! I spend the majority of my internship on Twitter and Instagram, commenting on photos, drafting tweets, and giving people advice on how to go vegan. I live in Kent, England, and I started volunteering for The Humane League UK in August 2017, and luckily found this internship shortly after. I currently work as a freelance copywriter and social media manager, but love doing plenty of volunteering for vegan organisations in my spare time.
I went vegan at the beginning of 2016; I watched the “Dairy is Scary” video on YouTube and transitioned from meat lover, to strict vegan overnight. I have come from a family that have never shown an interest in animal rights, welfare, or pets for that matter… My story is one of the reasons why I strongly believe that ANYONE can go vegan.
I run my own vegan lifestyle blog, and it’s literally my favourite thing that I have ever done. I’ve always loved writing, social media, and photography, and I am a strong believer in spreading veganism in the most positive way possible. I love showing people how easy being vegan is through the many delicious foods and beauty products that are available.
I’ve always been interested and passionate about film, and my ultimate goal in life is to work on a successful film, and if that film happens to be vegan-related… That would be the dream!
